Operations means different things at different companies. At CHAOS, it means real-world problem solving that helps us win. We are building a Business Operations team that deploys on complex problems spanning multiple areas of the business. Team members embed with other teams, learn each problem in depth, work alongside them to improve it, and then move on to the next project. You may be a strong fit if: You've excelled in a high-execution environment. Experience in this exact role is not a requirement. A track record of thriving where a great deal is expected of you is. Examples include specialized military units, top law firms or investment banks, professional sports, elite musical performance, or fast-paced startups. You've seen excellence up close and contributed to it. Strong grades at a demanding school are a positive signal, but they are not enough on their own; some professional experience is necessary. You're comfortable with math, and with software that does math. Nearly every problem you take on will involve quantitative work (even counting is math). You'll be expected to define how we measure what is true in the business (metrics) and examine it from multiple angles (analysis), using tools such as Excel, Palantir Foundry, or Python. You're intellectually curious. You read, and you read books. You enjoy understanding how different parts of the world work, and you seek out information when something catches your interest. No project at CHAOS is limited to a single, narrow topic. You'll need to learn multiple parts of our business and be curious enough to uncover the nuance and gray areas. You're a student of people and how they work. Almost every problem has a people component. Understanding why people behave as they do, and how to influence that behavior, is often the key to solving the problem.
