About The Position

The Business Operations Intern assists with the business operations side of summer weeklong tournament operations at The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This is a paid internship at $10 per hour. The organization will work with the intern’s college or university to support receiving college credit toward graduation. The internship is anticipated to run from May 10, 2027, through August 18, 2027. The intern reports to the Senior Manager, Event and Hospitality Operations.

Requirements

• College student seeking college credit or recent college graduate seeking work experience.
• Prior experience in a customer service environment.
• Outgoing and friendly personality, strong initiative, and high energy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve.
• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
• Commitment to work long hours, including weekends, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with Tournament Coordinators to prepare team rosters, welcome packets, and paperwork before each tournament.
• Coordinate team gift distribution and assist full-time staff with weekly inventory counts.
• Collaborate with full-time staff to support successful execution of weeklong tournaments.
• Provide support to the Food and Beverage Manager, Facilities Manager, and Retail Coordinator as needed.
• Communicate letters and enter Player of the Game information with Tournament Coordinators after each game.
• Work with Hospitality Interns and Team Coordinators to complete engravings for submitted items.
• Support team check-in, opening ceremonies, and skills competitions, particularly on Sundays.
• Provide professional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Foster a positive and collaborative environment with peers and full-time staff.
• Apply training, demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm, and uphold Ripken brand values and standards.
• Collaborate with staff to achieve objectives and help create a memorable experience for participants.
