About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Business Operations Director to support the Space Force Range contract at Patrick Space Force Base. This role involves leading the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC) Enterprise Services Directorate (ESD), which encompasses multiple disciplines and functional areas across the SFRC Enterprise. These areas include Accounting, Finance, Financial Analysis, Property Management, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Contracts, Subcontracts, Procurement, Security, and Information Technology. The director will oversee ESD operations, provide leadership and operational direction to managers, lead proposal initiatives, develop and administer programs and systems for analysis and control, identify continuous improvements, and ensure adherence to the SFRC Performance Work Statement and government regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in process driven environment and communicate requirements across diverse program teams including Teammates and subcontractors.
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities that affect cost and/or schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present in a professional environment.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a diverse, multi-disciplined team in the fast-paced SFRC operational environment, with high team satisfaction and low attrition.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience managing employees and functional groups.
  • Experience in establishing and generating budgets, baselines, forecasts, reports, proposals, and procurements.
  • Understanding of federal contract structures, including Public/Private Partnerships, standard FAR-based contracts, and newer Fixed Price and Performance-Based constructs.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and success in maintaining and organizing data, including dictionaries, metadata repositories and cross-reference indexes.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and related government contracting standards and regulations.
  • Experience managing employees and functional groups.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

  • MBA is preferred.
  • PeopleSoft and/or Cost Point experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee ESD operations in all functional areas including Accounting, Finance, Financial Analysis, Property Management, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Contracts, Subcontracts, Procurement, Security, and Information Technology.
  • Provide leadership and operational direction to managers in functional areas to ensure operational success.
  • Lead and ensure completion of all ESD-responsible SFRC proposal initiatives and promises.
  • Develop, manage, implement and administer programs, procedures and systems in multiple disciplines to ensure proactive analysis, control and operational success.
  • Provide proactive analysis to support/identify opportunities for increased operational efficiencies through strong value management and planning.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements.
  • Maintain contract cost and schedule baselines, cost reporting, staffing levels, and recruitment.
  • Ensure all operational areas abide by the SFRC Performance Work Statement and government regulations.
