About The Position

The Business Office Manager at Generations is responsible to provide accounting support and enforce a strict segregation of duties between the community's Business Office Coordinator (BOC) and accounting tasks including, but not limited to accounts receivable/payable, and internal controls, while ensuring compliance with federal, state and senior-living regulatory requirements. Incorporates Generation's mission, vision, and values in the daily work and interactions with others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business office or accounting functions.
  • Working knowledge of accounting best practices such as payables, receivables, and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State, City, and County regulations and tax practices, and Medicaid regulations.
  • Must pass background check and meet state regulatory standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's preferred in Business or Accounting.
  • Senior living, healthcare or multi-site experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support timely and accurate month-end close activities in accordance with Generations' financial calendar.
  • Review, approve, and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor invoices, deposits, rent statements, and resident refunds.
  • Collaborate with Business Office Coordinators, Staff Accountants, and the accounting team to ensure financial accuracy and improve workflows.
  • Provide training, guidance, and operational support to BOCs as needed.
  • Assist with financial data entry, resident inquiries, audit preparations, and coverage during staffing shortages or peak workload periods.
  • Verify compliance with internal controls, including separation of AP and AR functions.
  • Maintain an organized, professional office environment and adhere to Generations' policies and standards.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
