About The Position

Supports facility operations by maintaining business office systems and supervising staff. This role involves obtaining necessary authorizations, managing resident trust funds, supervising business office staff, maintaining census data, and participating in billing and payment processes. The position requires strong understanding of skilled nursing billing and payment, proficiency in Microsoft products, and the ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of skilled nursing billing and payment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products computer skills.
  • Ability to read technical procedures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.

  • One-year experience in a long term care facility.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid authorizations including bedholds.
  • Assist with managing resident trust fund, including printing and distributing monthly statements.
  • Supervise business office staff, including taking appropriate disciplinary measures.
  • Maintain census and report status changes.
  • May attend stand-up meetings at the request of the Administrator.
  • Assist with Medi-Cal or Medicaid applications.
  • Prepare TARS as needed.
  • Track Medi-Cal and Medicaid redeterminations.
  • Participate in billing and payment processes including preparing bank deposits.
  • Undertake collection activity for bad debts.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Assist with the overall supervision and management of the business office staff.
