About The Position

FGS has a growing engineered resins portfolio spanning PET, PS, PC/ABS, PC, Nylon, and ABS. The Business & Marketing Coordinator (Technical Business Development) exists to grow this business by qualifying new customers, running material trials, and providing the technical support that turns opportunities into long-term, higher-margin programs. Working closely with the Taiwan and FGS teams, this person pairs deep resin and processing knowledge with commercial and marketing acumen to build the customer pipeline, coordinate qualifications and pricing, manage sales transitions, and shape longer-term market strategy, enhancing Formosa’s brand and reputation with existing and prospective customers.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or applications engineering for engineered resins or similar thermoplastics
Direct experience with one or more of PET, PS, PC/ABS, PC, Nylon, and ABS, including grade selection and customer applications
Proven track record of building a pipeline, qualifying higher-margin customers, and managing material trials from sample through commercialization
Working knowledge of injection molding and/or extrusion processing and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Strong understanding of thermoplastic resin properties, processing methods, and part and tooling design considerations
Ability to run and interpret material trials and translate the results into clear recommendations for customers
Skilled at diagnosing processing and part-performance problems and proposing corrective actions
Proficiency with CRM and sales-funnel tools for pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
4-year college degree, preferably in polymer science, chemical/materials engineering, plastics engineering, or a related technical field
Technical sales, marketing, or applications experience in plastics or engineered resins required

Responsibilities

Build the customer pipeline across the engineered resins portfolio (PET, PS, PC/ABS, PC, Nylon, and ABS), focusing on qualifying higher-margin customers and programs.
Maintain and report on the sales funnel, tracking opportunities by stage, volume, margin, and probability to support planning and decision-making.
Coordinate with the Taiwan and FGS teams on material qualifications and manage any additional qualifications needed to approve grades for target applications.
Manage material trials at customer sites, coordinating sample requests, trial runs, and molding/extrusion evaluations from setup through qualification.
Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting for processing and part-performance issues such as drying, molding parameters, warpage, and mechanical or aesthetic defects.
Serve as the technical liaison between customers and suppliers, resolving quality concerns and translating technical requirements into actionable solutions.
Work with the Taiwan and FGS sales teams to coordinate sales transitions and maintain strong, ongoing customer relationships.
Partner with sales to develop account strategies and convert qualified opportunities into committed, long-term programs.
Work with the Taiwan and FGS teams on pricing, quoting, and building out initial programs for new customers and applications.
Support value-based pricing and margin targets by aligning grade selection, specifications, and program structure with commercial goals.
Create and maintain a longer-term market strategy for the different markets and product lines FGS serves.
Maintain deep technical knowledge of PET, PS, PC/ABS, PC, Nylon, and ABS, and monitor market trends, competitor grades, and emerging applications.
Attend conferences, trade shows, and industry events to build the customer base and gather voice-of-customer feedback for the Taiwan and FGS teams.
Support marketing materials, customer presentations, and other business development tasks required to grow the engineered resins business.
