About The Position

The School of Nursing is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to oversee office operations and support the day-to-day functions of a busy, multi-unit environment. This role will supervise administrative staff, coordinate communications, and manage key operational processes while partnering with leadership to support strategic goals. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with experience managing events, overseeing procurement, and ensuring efficient office workflows. Serving as a critical point of coordination, this individual will help drive operational effectiveness, support team performance, and contribute to the overall success of the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field and three years of professional business or management experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Some positions in this classification may require previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manages office operations and supervises at least one regular staff employee.
  • Researches and compiles information for reports and presentations, and may assist in developing operational goals and strategies for the office.
  • Reviews and may respond to incoming communications and inquiries; refers issues to appropriate parties when necessary.
  • Conducts meetings to address specific business and office operational issues and develops recommendations and action plans towards effective resolutions.
  • May act as a spokesperson for the department in the absence of leadership.
  • Supervises and schedules administrative support staff, processes various human resources transactions, and may assist in addressing employee issues/concerns and in determining appropriate courses of action.
  • Oversees procurement of equipment and supplies.
  • Plans and executes meetings, functions, and special events for multiple units and departments.
  • Collaborates with staff and clients to establish event goals and objectives; develops and recommends event operating procedures; establishes and manages event planning timelines; creates task assignments; and proposes resources needed to execute the event.
  • Assists in coordinating, providing input for, monitoring and improving the human resources and business operational activities.
  • Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating a variety of activities and special projects affecting area's operations.
  • Coordinates or assists in preparing departmental budgets and forecasts of future budget requirements.
  • May ensure that awarded grants conform to defined budget parameters.
  • Negotiates new and renewal contracts with vendors.
  • Directs logistical and clerical support activities, and coordinates specific data collection efforts and special projects.
  • Designs and generates reports.
  • May supervise staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
