Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Education, Computer Science, Information Systems, or master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution
- Valid Driver’s License
- Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
Nice To Haves
- PhD in teaching discipline
- Certifications (IC3, Microsoft Certified Application Specialist, Microsoft Office Specialist Associate/Expert)
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level
- Directly related field experience
- Online teaching experience
Responsibilities
- Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards
- Instructs courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry
- Prepares course syllabi using provided template
- Utilizes current technology in the classroom/lab
- Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
- Grades all coursework in a timely manner
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area
- Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues
- Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline
- Works collaboratively with faculty within discipline to establish, measure, and evaluate student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits to appropriate program director
- Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
- Requests and maintains supplies and equipment
