About The Position

Serve as a liaison to Internal Loan Officers, Underwriters, and external stakeholders! Seeking 2-4 years' minimum in Business or Commercial Loan processing and closing. The Business Loan Operations Coordinator serves as the liaison between the business member, underwriter, and business lending representative to ensure an efficient, accurate, and compliant process for the documentation and funding of loans for business members of the Credit Union.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in business, Business Administration, or related field of study; 2 years of relative work experience or 2 years of college course equivalent in lieu of degree
  • 2 additional years of relative business or commercial loan work experience
  • 10-Key calculator, typing and keying skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years specific member facing business loan processing work experience within a Credit Union.
  • Prior experience completing transactions in Symitar, Meridian Link, Lexis Nexis, Core Logic, Repay, Bakerhill/Unify, LaserPro, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, complete, and process all business loan applications approved by underwriting; Takes full ownership for all correspondence and processing of assigned loans from application to closing, booking, and post-closing.
  • Responsible for the completion of post-closing audits.
  • Assume responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate processing of business lending documentation for loan closing, loan funding and other lending related member services.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness and forwarding of all forms and documentation for third parties, including accuracy in all documentation needed to properly record liens or perfect collateralization, verify insurance, and all documentation needed to facilitate the funding and booking of the loan.
  • Maintain appropriate follow-up on pending applications to ensure the processes are moving forward.
  • Obtain business member signatures on all appropriate documents; Ensures that appropriate authorizations and corporate resolutions are included as required.
  • Maintain a cadence for follow up and contact with settlement and title companies to request outstanding documents and/or document corrections; Ensures all missing or corrected documents are in-house withing 90 – 120 days of post-closing.
  • Review loan packages for assurances that all processes and procedures are followed and alert the manager when discrepancies are identified so that a resolution may be determined.
  • Collaborate with internal risk management and audit stakeholders to resolve file issues and ensure documentation is readily available; Prepares files and provides documents for internal and external audit requests.
  • Collaborate with, and provides required documentation to, internal stakeholders for the establishment of business member shares.
  • Complete request of varying degrees of complexity; some moderate in nature and others requiring extensive research and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Reconcile general ledgers (GLs); Deposit checks, wires, ACH transactions received from closing agents/attorneys to the appropriate GLs.
  • May complete a variety of service requests, clerical duties, and research associated with the resolution of business member inquiries and concerns about their loan applications or pending loan transactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all business lending products and services.
  • Assume accountability for personal understanding and adherence to all APCU business lending policies and procedures.
  • Follow all processes and practices that have been put in place to mitigate fraudulent activity and risks.
  • Facilitate the ability for the business member to speak with internal business partners for resolution of inquiries and concerns that cannot be resolved by yourself.
  • Detail oriented; able to multi-task.
  • Effectively use written and oral communication skills in daily correspondence.
  • Adhere to the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Military Lending Act (MLA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Housing Act (FHA), the Universal Code (UCC), and any other state or federal regulation associated with the granting of credit that are applicable to this position.
  • Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.
