About The Position

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Business Lead, Software & Control to join their team. This critical and visible role reports to the Regional Manager for Software Controls and will cover the Ohio territory, with up to 50% travel. The Business Leader will serve as a commercial and technical resource for a segment of Rockwell Automation's portfolio, focusing on maximizing sales within the assigned geography. This involves supporting sales activities, launching new products, ensuring product competency within the sales and channel teams, providing commercial program support, and engaging in marketing activities. The role also includes advising on proposals, pricing, and sales pursuit strategies, and providing feedback on product/service gaps and development needs for the assigned markets. Areas of expertise include Logix controllers and I/O platforms, Industrial networks switches, Operator interfaces, Industrial Computers, Design Software, Operation and Visualization Software, and Information & Analytics software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel 50% of time or more
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Current, valid Drivers License

  • Typically requires 5+ years of solution and application expertise, and related demonstrated sales experience.

  • Prior or current experience working with all levels of a customer's organization: c-level, executive, plant management, Sellers, Customers, Owners, with knowledge of Automation technologies and services
  • Experience at planning and operationalizing execution to broad range of Sales, Business Unit, and Channel Members.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure regional selling resources maintain the appropriate competencies across assigned products and services.
  • Co-operate with the sales force in promoting the product offering for which they are responsible.
  • Lead launch of new products to the sales force and channel.
  • Plan and execute commercial programs related to product responsibility.
  • Define and articulate product differentiators and values versus competition.
  • Provide timely information to support effective management of the business to all levels.
  • Analyze competitive product lines, have knowledge of competitor's strategy, further define competitive differentiators.
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars, Webinars and/or similar marketing activities.
  • Plan and execute training (technical and Commercial) for sales organizations and ecosystem to ensure they are enabled with the latest information to sell the value of assigned product lines to our customers.
  • Ensure market access (System Integrators and Distributors) can articulate value and identify opportunities for new products and technologies within assigned product business.
  • Provide product gap and development feedback to appropriate team.
