About The Position

This 10-week summer internship program allows participants to gain meaningful professional experience and insight into the insurance industry while contributing to financial protection benefits for workers and families. Interns will be assigned challenging project work within departments such as Finance, Communications, Human Resources, and Underwriting, contributing to immediate business impact. The program includes weekly workshops on professional development and business practices, cross-functional business case challenges, and an end-of-summer presentation to key business leaders. Interns are typically placed with a specific corporate function team in early spring. The program aims to develop professional skills and provide hands-on experience for personal and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college degree program or be a Spring 2027 graduate.
  • 3.0 GPA.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed on project work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week during regular business hours.
  • Adhere to Unum's hybrid work policy.
