About The Position

The Business Intern will have opportunities to gain practical experience in various departments across the bank. The assistant will rotate based on the needs of both the bank and the individual, allowing exposure to multiple functions such as retail banking, operations, human resources, marketing, credit, and more. This part-time, paid internship supports the intern’s academic growth and future career development while helping students understand and engage with the banking industry. The assistant will contribute meaningfully to their assigned departments while representing the values of Central Bank of the Ozarks. The intern will also serve as ambassadors of the program and may be asked to assist in recruitment efforts, attend community and internal events, and share their experience to promote future participation in the internship and scholarship program. This opportunity is part of a scholarship/internship initiative designed to support local high school graduates pursuing a business degree, or current college students majoring in a business-related field with at least two years remaining in their studies. The ultimate goal is to invest in the next generation of business professionals and encourage future employment with Central Bank of the Ozarks or within Central Bancompany.

Requirements

  • Must be a recent high school graduate or current college student with at least two years remaining in pursuit of a business-related degree.
  • Enrollment at Missouri State University–Springfield, Drury University, Evangel University, OTC–Springfield or Ozark, or another approved Southwest Missouri institution.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required each semester and must be maintained to remain eligible for the scholarship.
  • Transcripts must be submitted each semester to verify GPA and enrollment status.
  • Must remain in good academic standing with their college or university and in good standing with the bank to retain scholarship eligibility.
  • Willingness to serve as the face of the internship program by participating in recruiting events and representing Central Bank at internal and external functions as needed.
  • Strong communication, high level of attention to detail, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to learning and growth.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with technology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all assignments.
  • Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year, with the possibility of additional hours during summer or winter breaks.
