About The Position

The Velocity Program is a customized internship or co-op experience focused on providing students with the development and tools needed to grow their careers. This 8-month program runs from September 2026 to April 2027 and offers the opportunity to be part of a winning team, build a network, and discover career interests while being paid. Successful completion with top performance may lead to future placements within different areas of Scotiabank and Tangerine. The program emphasizes Attitude, Ownership, and Opportunity (AOO) and is ideal for students seeking to kickstart their careers in an international organization that invests in their future.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
• Love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future.
• Enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, and hackathons.
• Knowledge/experience in drawing conclusions and providing actionable insights to encourage data-driven decision making.
• Knowledge/experience in managing a project and ensuring deliverables are made.
• Knowledge/experience in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.

Nice To Haves

• Programs such as GCP and Big Query are considered an asset.
• Power BI (Power Query and DAX) experience would be considered an asset.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of highly motivated, technical generalists and bankers to deliver clean and effective solutions.
• Identify and analyze business and technical requirements to create diagrams, flow charts, and documentation using PowerBI.
• Perform data cleaning, reconciliation, and side-by-side validation checks between source files and consolidated outputs.
• Help build and troubleshoot DAX measures and Power Query (M) transformations under the team’s guidance.
• Interpret and consolidate large amounts of information into actionable recommendations.
• Make impact by constantly improving, identifying and implementing processes.
• Experiment and learn.
