About The Position

The Business Intelligence Analyst oversees the ongoing development, operations, and standardization of the enterprise data warehouse and operational data store. This position collaborates with departments to identify, scope, understand, document, and analyze business opportunities and requirements. The Business Intelligence Analyst identifies effective reporting techniques, data sources, risks, constraints, and desired report formats that drive the development and design of BI solutions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc.
  • Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 3 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Advanced: 10-Key, Database
  • Intermediate: Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Presentation/PowerPoint, Programming Languages, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
  • Experience must include development of BI solutions (metadata, reporting, analytics, dashboards, report definitions, data extracts, etc)
  • Advanced level of executing, implementing and supporting BI solutions based upon business requirement, content knowledge and multiple data source types
  • Experience must include knowledge of SQL (designer, queries)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with database administrators on the ongoing operations and standardization of enterprise data warehouse and operational data store.
  • Manage administration, configuration, monitoring, performance, maintenance and usability of BI systems.
  • Develop, maintain and manage metadata, reporting, analytics, dashboards, report definitions, data extracts, etc. Designs, codes, tests and document all new or existing BI solutions. Writing complex queries, views and stored procedures.
  • Solve complex data issue using data analyst skills to determine root cause problem for data integrity and data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify and scope the business opportunity, to understand, document and analyze business requirements, identify effective reporting techniques, the best data sources, risks and constraints, and desired reporting formats that drive the development and design of BI solution.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of business workflow, processes, and events and how these are captured in transactional systems.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to departments regarding in data analytics, business measures, and reporting.
  • Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value.
  • Communicates plans, progress, and issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Analyze, estimate, and fulfill requests for BI solutions.
  • Lead or participate as a team member on organization projects.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate initiative timelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and future techniques and technologies through research, training labs, reading, conferences and experimentation with new technologies in the workplace.
  • Back-up other members of the team as required.
  • Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
