Business Intelligence Analyst

Asset Based Lending LLCJersey City, NJ
$80,000 - $95,000

About The Position

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to turn ABL’s data into trusted reporting and insight that drives decisions across Sales, Marketing, Underwriting, Capital Markets, and the executive team. This role builds and maintains the reports, dashboards, and analyses the business runs on, working from our enterprise data platform and core source systems such as Dynamics, HubSpot, and loan servicing. This is a hands-on individual contributor role on the Reporting and Analytics team. The Business Intelligence Analyst partners directly with business stakeholders to understand what they need, translates it into clear requirements, and delivers accurate, well-documented reporting through a structured intake and review process. The role blends business analysis, which includes requirements, definitions, and stakeholder management, with BI development, which includes data modeling, dashboards, and self-serve reporting.

Requirements

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or reporting roles
  • Proven experience building production reports and dashboards used by business stakeholders
  • Strong ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear requirements and deliver against them
  • Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders and communicating insight clearly
  • Comfortable owning deliverables end to end within a structured process
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or technical field
  • Strong proficiency with Power BI, including data modeling and DAX
  • Expert-level SQL for querying, transformation, and analysis
  • Experience with HubSpot reporting or a comparable CRM analytics platform
  • Ability to build clear, executive-ready visualizations and narratives
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or Databricks
  • Comfort working with multiple source systems such as CRM, ERP, and loan servicing, and reconciling across them
  • Familiarity with version control such as Git and a structured, documented way of working
  • Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to define and standardize metrics and business definitions
  • Attention to data quality, validation, and reconciliation

Nice To Haves

  • BI or analytics certifications are a plus, for example Power BI certification
  • Exposure to dbt or a similar transformation framework is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document reporting and analytics requirements, restating the requirement back to the requester before any build
  • Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards in Power BI and HubSpot, and in other BI tools as needed
  • Develop and maintain well-structured datasets and semantic models that produce consistent, agreed metric definitions across the business
  • Produce mockups for stakeholder sign-off before building, then refine the delivered report against the confirmed mockup
  • Validate data and reconcile figures across source systems so that reporting can be trusted
  • Define and document metric definitions, business logic, and data dictionaries so terminology stays consistent across teams
  • Support marketing and sales analytics, including lead and funnel reporting, attribution, and conversion analysis
  • Build executive and board-level reporting, distilling detailed analysis into clear, concise narratives
  • Follow the team intake and delivery process of scope, requirements, mockup, build, and walkthrough, and manage work through Asana
  • Document reports, data sources, and processes so they are maintainable and transferable
  • Contribute to data quality and governance by surfacing issues and helping define standards
