About The Position

WakeMed is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst II for a 1-year contract role. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining data analytics and business intelligence solutions to support strategic decision-making. The analyst will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, clinical stakeholders, and business leaders to translate complex data into meaningful insights. Additionally, this role will mentor junior analysts and drive innovation, scalability, and reliability across analytics platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Nursing, or a related field.
• Experience developing business intelligence and analytics solutions.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Familiarity with the Epic Clarity Data Model.
• Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or QlikView.
• Ability to translate business requirements into meaningful reporting and analytics solutions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Epic Certification in the area of responsibility is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with Health Catalyst Subject Area Mart (SAM).
• Experience in systems analysis and healthcare information technology environments.
• Clinical experience in nursing and/or acute care settings.
• Experience supporting healthcare analytics, clinical reporting, and operational improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that provide actionable insights and support operational and clinical decision-making.
• Create and enhance dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and QlikView.
• Build, optimize, and maintain data models, analytical frameworks, and data processing workflows that improve performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, identify opportunities, and deliver data-driven solutions that meet business needs.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in analytics, reporting, and data governance.
