About The Position

The Business Intelligence Analyst II serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into clear and actionable data and reporting solutions. This role requires strong business domain understanding, analytical thinking, and communication skills, with working knowledge of data platforms and tools to support analytics and reporting initiatives. This is a term position anticipated to be needed through Fall 2028 but may be ended or extended based on organizational needs, funding availability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or related field
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating to technical specifications
  • Experience working with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI
  • Experience working with data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders and technical developers
  • Basic understanding of data modeling concepts and data warehouse structures
  • Solid experience supporting reporting and analytics projects in Finance, HCM, Research or related domains preferred
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of reporting concepts, KPIs, and business process analysis.
  • Working knowledge of data systems, integration concepts, and data lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and business domains.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, KPIs, and data definitions.
  • Collaborate with developers and data engineers to ensure accurate delivery of data and reporting solutions.
  • Validate and test reports, dashboards, and datasets to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams to support issue resolution and enhancements.
  • Work with data teams to understand data models, data lineage, and data availability across systems.
  • Support data migration and transformation initiatives by defining reporting and historical data requirements.
  • Assist in building or modifying reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI) when required.
  • Document business processes, report logic, and data definitions for governance and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide user support, training, and guidance on analytics tools and reporting solutions.
