About The Position

The Business Intelligence Analyst 1 is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the organization's data analytics and reporting needs under direct supervision. This role focuses on developing foundational BI skills through hands-on experience creating reports, dashboards, and basic data analysis. The BI Analyst 1 works closely with senior team members to learn requirements gathering, data modeling, and visualization best practices while delivering standard reporting solutions that support business operations.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for querying relational databases.
  • Internship or academic project experience with BI tools and SQL is highly valued.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently when appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in documenting processes, creating knowledge base articles, and maintaining team resources.
  • Build relationships with business stakeholders while developing understanding of their processes and needs.
  • Communicate project status and challenges to senior team members in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates with business users who test, validate, and evaluate new applications or functionality and obtains sign-off from the appropriate stakeholder.
  • Create and maintain standard Power BI dashboards and reports based on defined specifications and templates.
  • Demonstrate initiative in seeking opportunities to learn and expand technical capabilities.
  • Learn and apply Power BI best practices for data modeling, DAX calculations, and visualization design.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions, taking notes and documenting stakeholder needs.
  • Perform basic data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in business data.
  • Update existing reports and dashboards with new data sources or minor modifications as directed.
  • Work collaboratively with team members on projects, accepting feedback and incorporating guidance.
