Business Insights & Analytics Leadership Development Program (BI&A LDP) Intern
About The Position

The Business Insights & Analytics Leadership Development Program (BI&ALDP) internship is built for analytically driven students who are serious about launching a career in data and analytics. This is not a passive, observational internship — you will do real work, solve real business problems, and be evaluated like a professional from day one. Over 10 weeks, you and your cohort of peers will be embedded in Travelers' data and analytics community, gaining hands-on experience in one or more of our core analytics disciplines while building the technical and professional skills that define a successful career. Technical training is delivered to you by current full-time BI&ALDP participants — those who were recently in your position — giving you an authentic, peer-informed perspective on what it takes to grow here. The internship program is based in Hartford, CT and St. Paul, MN. Positions are available in our business units and corporate departments. Subsidized apartments are available for students who live beyond a commutable distance from Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN. Positions are available from June through early August.
Requirements
- Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. now and in the future. The company does not sponsor/support H-1B petitions, TN, or Forms I-983/STEM OPT, for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred.
- Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
- Data warehouse and ETL understanding with Python, SQL, and/or Snowflake.
- Knowledge of data lakes and/or experience with Databricks.
- Exposure to dashboarding, scorecards or other descriptive reporting tools.
- Knowledge of multidimensional data and open-source cloud-enabled analytical programming languages.
- Familiarity with agile concepts & workflows.
Responsibilities
- Real project work aligned to active business needs across Travelers' analytics functions.
- Technical training taught by full-time BI&ALDP participants.
- Formal performance reviews that give you honest, structured feedback on your growth.
- Leadership exposure through company-wide events including the Intern Symposium and community outreach initiatives, where you will interact with leaders and a cohort across the enterprise.
- A collaborative capstone presentation where you and your fellow interns develop and present solutions to relevant business and analytics challenges.
- Leverage modern analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) tools/platforms with the ability to apply critical thinking to evaluate limitations related to quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- At the close of the internship, high performing interns are eligible to interview for a full-time offer to join the BI&ALDP — making these 10 weeks one of the most important career opportunities of your academic journey.
