The New York City Bar Association (City Bar), founded in 1870, is a voluntary association of lawyers and law students. The City Bar’s mission is to equip and mobilize a diverse legal profession to practice with excellence, promote reform of the law, and uphold the rule of law and access to justice in support of a fair society and the public interest in our community, our nation, and throughout the world. The Programs Department produces more than 130 CLE (Continued Legal Education) programs and events annually, including the Annual Conferences, the Small Law Firm Symposium, the Professional Development Workshop Series, and the New Lawyer Institute. The Business Development Team is charged with identifying, prospecting, developing and growing business relationships with law firms, corporations, government entities, and law schools — with the primary focus on securing sponsors and continuously increasing revenue and visibility for City Bar’s programs and conferences.
