About The Position

The Business Development Specialist – Inside Sales is responsible for generating new business opportunities and growing existing customer relationships for Dallas Trailer Repair Co.'s semi-trailer repair and maintenance services. This role focuses on proactive sales outreach, lead generation, account management, customer service, and coordination with operations to ensure customer needs are met. The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional who can identify opportunities, build relationships, and drive revenue growth within the transportation, trucking, and trailer industries.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of inside sales, business development, account management, or customer service experience.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and business software applications.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the trucking, trailer repair, transportation, fleet maintenance, heavy equipment, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of semi-trailer components, maintenance, and repair services.
  • Familiarity with fleet management operations and transportation industry customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new business through outbound calls, emails, referrals, networking, and follow-up activities.
  • Generate qualified sales opportunities for trailer repair, maintenance, and fleet service programs.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective customers and document all sales activities within the CRM system.
  • Follow up on inquiries, estimates, and service recommendations to convert opportunities into revenue.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet managers, owner-operators, transportation companies, and other industry-related customers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding customer operational needs and recommending appropriate repair and maintenance solutions.
  • Conduct customer outreach campaigns to increase retention and repeat business.
  • Respond promptly to customer questions regarding services, repairs, estimates, and scheduling.
  • Develop an understanding of semi-trailer systems, repairs, and maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare and present accurate service estimates for customers.
  • Follow up on open estimates and identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Gather customer requirements including: Preferred parts and vendors, Billing contacts and procedures, Purchase order requirements, Work authorization processes, Payment terms and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with Service Advisors, Shop Managers, Technicians, and Parts Departments to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Communicate customer requirements and service needs to internal teams.
  • Support company initiatives by cross-selling parts, equipment, and additional services when appropriate.
  • Work closely with accounting and operations to help resolve billing and payment-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity in CRM software.
  • Track leads, opportunities, customer interactions, and sales performance metrics.
  • Prepare activity reports, pipeline updates, and sales forecasts as required.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and company events.
