Business Development Specialist

Tricon Wear Solutions•Irondale, AL

About The Position

The Business Development Specialist owns and grows a defined book of smaller accounts across Aggregates, Mining, Metals & Recycling, and Pulp & Paper. The role provides consistent, dedicated coverage to small, lapsed, dormant, and otherwise underserved accounts, converting that coverage into active, repeat business. Work is conducted primarily by phone, email, and virtual meetings, with occasional travel for high-value opportunities. The specialist partners with sales, product, marketing, and operations to support account growth and ensure customer needs inform go-to-market decisions. The role includes understanding account purchasing patterns and decision-makers, identifying new buyers and applications, reactivating dormant and lapsed accounts, preparing and following up on quotes, and moving opportunities toward decisions. The specialist uses SFDC as the system of record for account data, activity, pipeline, and forecast; reports on reactivations, conversions, pipeline, and quote follow-through; and flags growth opportunities to the Strategic Accounts Manager. The role also supports decisions about whether accounts remain in the assigned book or transition to a Regional Director or Territory Manager. Work is primarily remote or office-based. The role is ideally based in Birmingham, Alabama, with flexibility for the right candidate, and requires occasional travel.
