About The Position

Latham & Watkins is seeking a Business Development Senior Specialist with a focus on the Tech Industry. This role is crucial to the Business Development team, working closely with group chairs, market leaders, and other BD colleagues to support the Tech industry groups in achieving their strategic marketing and business development objectives. The specialist will develop and maintain deep knowledge of tech practices, market trends, client base, and industry expertise. This position can be based in New York, Austin, Bay Area (San Francisco & Silicon Valley), or Downtown Los Angeles (GSO) and may offer a hybrid working schedule.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of the tech & AI landscape, including various players within the industry and trends.
  • Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to interact with people at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant business development experience in a law firm or legal environment, preferably.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative relevant experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business development and marketing plans, acting as an internal "dot connector".
  • Stay informed about developments and trends in Technology and Artificial Intelligence, providing research, analysis, and reporting to identify and develop new clients and enhance existing relationships.
  • Support AI Practice stakeholders and strategic projects.
  • Build and drive the marketing strategy for the Tech industry groups with a focus on measurable impact.
  • Achieve fluency in the client base and support efforts to identify, pursue, and secure new business from both new and existing clients.
  • Assist in the execution of cross-selling strategies, collaborating with relevant BD teams and key partner stakeholders.
  • Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information.
