About The Position

Join a growing team focused on expanding access, strengthening partnerships, and creating meaningful value across the pharmaceutical supply chain. As a Business Development Senior Advisor you will own key manufacturer relationships for the Matrix GPO and help drive contract performance, market access growth, and strategic business outcomes. You will partner closely with leaders and cross-functional teams to turn insights into action, improve contract utilization, and support long-term growth for Matrix, our manufacturer partners, and our members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturer relations, market access, GPO contracting, account management, strategic partnerships, or a related healthcare business role.
  • Experience reviewing, negotiating, or supporting pharmaceutical manufacturer agreements, amendments, renewals, or contract performance initiatives.
  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders, and lead complex business discussions.
  • Experience using data, business reviews, and performance metrics to identify opportunities and recommend action.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work across teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, pharmacy, supply chain, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience working with group purchasing organizations, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical manufacturers, payer organizations, or healthcare services companies.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a portfolio of pharmaceutical manufacturer relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and strategic partner.
  • Lead business reviews, performance updates, and planning discussions that create clear actions and support shared growth goals.
  • Review, evaluate, negotiate, and support execution of manufacturer agreements, amendments, renewals, and new contracting opportunities.
  • Monitor contract performance, compliance, utilization, and pull-through to identify risks, gaps, and growth opportunities.
  • Build manufacturer-specific growth plans that expand product participation, support differential programs, and increase market share.
  • Use sales, utilization, market, and contract performance data to develop insights and recommend practical next steps.
  • Partner with contracting, sales, operations, finance, analytics, and leadership teams to execute strategies and resolve issues.
  • Identify opportunities to add new products, programs, and contracting arrangements that increase value for manufacturers and members.
  • Represent Matrix in executive-level meetings, strategic planning discussions, advisory boards, and industry events.
  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert for assigned manufacturer portfolios, therapeutic categories, and market trends.
