About The Position

Blossman Gas is seeking a motivated Business Development Sales Specialist for their showroom location in the Chesterfield / Iron Bridge, VA area (South Richmond). This role combines inside sales from a showroom environment with potential outside sales for prospecting contractor and homebuilder accounts. The company is a stable, growth-oriented, independent propane company with over 85 retail locations, offering competitive pay, annual performance-based increases, bonus structures, and professional growth opportunities. The Richmond-area team is established and serves a growing customer base.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Pass pre-employment checks including background and drug screening.
  • Professional, friendly, organized, and conditioned for relationship (trust) selling.
  • 2-5 years of prior success with inside sales preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office, Excel).
  • Organized.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Openness to progress.
  • Utilization of technology and growth-oriented expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or other related field.
  • Some experience with outside sales.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate company offerings and services enthusiastically from the showroom and by telephone.
  • Work with builders and homeowners for new construction and renovation needs relating to gas fireplace systems, outdoor kitchens, gas appliances, grills, and more, aiming for a good closing rate.
  • Conduct some on-site, Outside Sales-related duties when approaching new opportunities for residential propane.
  • Remain up to date on preferred brands, financing, preventative maintenance, and promotional offerings.
  • Maintain showroom cleanliness and standards.
  • Perform computer work to support daily workflow and customer-care efforts.
  • Regularly follow up with customers by telephone, email, and text.
  • Occasionally help customers load new equipment.
