About The Position

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) is seeking a driven and dynamic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing sales team, focused primarily on Business to Business (B2B) opportunities. The BDR will play a crucial role in identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities for our safety certification solutions. You will be responsible for generating leads, initiating contact with potential business clients, setting qualified meetings, and closing sales. This is a high-impact role that directly supports our mission to make workplaces safer and more productive.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or lead generation, preferably in B2B or professional services.
  • Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot experience is a plus) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Nice To Haves

  • Safety management experience is preferred
  • QSSP certification is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant industry knowledge is a plus.
  • Passion for workplace safety and a genuine interest in making a positive impact on organizations and their employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with business leaders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple prospects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential business clients across targeted industries using a variety of tools and channels (Hubspot, industry directories, etc.).
  • Conduct outbound calls, emails, and social media messaging to introduce BCSP’s offerings and generate interest in our B2B safety certification solutions.
  • Engage with prospects to understand their safety needs, qualify their interest, and assess their fit for BCSP’s programs.
  • Schedule qualified meetings and discovery calls with decision-makers and key stakeholders.
  • Enter and maintain accurate records of all prospecting, outreach, closing, and sales activities in the CRM system (HubSpot), ensuring a healthy and organized sales pipeline.
  • Deliver engaging in-person presentations and virtual presentations/webinars to prospective and existing business clients, clearly communicating the value of BCSP’s workplace safety certification programs and driving sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with BCSP internal teams to refine messaging, share market feedback, and optimize lead generation strategies.
  • Stay up to date on BCSP’s offerings, industry trends, and the evolving needs of businesses regarding workplace safety.
