About The Position

The Business Development Representative (BDR) team is TransUnion’s sales engine, responsible for generating new customer opportunities and supporting the company’s long-term sales talent pipeline. Partnering closely with Sales Managers, Account Executives, and Sales Leadership, the BDR team drives growth by identifying new prospects, booking product demonstrations, and ensuring a steady flow of qualified opportunities into the broader sales organization. This role reports directly to the BDR Manager – Inside Sales Division. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent
  • 0–2 years of experience or relevant internship experience in inside sales
  • Demonstrated aptitude in sales or marketing techniques with proven ability to cultivate customer relationships
  • Team player who works collaboratively with peers and management
  • An individual who holds themselves accountable for exceeding their KPI goals and takes ownership of their actions
  • Proficiency with technology including all Microsoft Office Solutions
  • Documents all activities in salesforce.com, and other sales engagement tools to manage sales activities, follow-ups with prospects
  • Superior communication skills both verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Conducts ~60 outbound sales calls per day, these will be a combination of leads, accounts applying for access for documentation collection, and into existing accounts
  • Build working knowledge of how to position and sell TLOxp
  • Drive customer interest and book product demos
  • Receive inbound leads and attempt to book demos for qualified new prospects
  • Reconnect with uncontacted or minimally contacted leads
  • Use the consultative sales process to identify needs and offer TransUnion’s solutions within the product family
  • Ensures smooth and productive onboarding through proper handoff of new opportunities to the Account Executive team
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers to drive targeted sales campaigns and uncover leads and thought leadership within specific vertical markets
  • Builds and maintains strong, professional relationships with TransUnion staff, management, and extended teams
  • Develop Fair Credit Reporting Act, Driver's Privacy Protection Act, and Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act knowledge through internal training
  • Unqualify leads that do not meet TransUnion requirements
