About The Position

The Junkluggers is seeking a local Business Development Representative to expand its strategic accounts and referral partnerships across Central New Jersey. This is an in-person role focused on building relationships with local businesses, property managers, realtors, contractors, moving companies, storage facilities, senior living communities, and other referral sources. The position involves face-to-face networking, in-person business visits, phone outreach, and digital communication. Candidates must be comfortable meeting clients and partners in person regularly. The role offers a base salary plus commission, bonuses, and incentives, and is ideal for a self-starter with a "hunter mentality" who enjoys meeting people and creating business opportunities. It provides an excellent chance to grow within a fast-paced small business environment and gain experience in business development, sales, marketing, and networking.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in sales, business development, customer service, or marketing preferred
  • Comfortable with both in-person meetings and phone/email communication
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and highly organized
  • Comfortable networking and introducing yourself to new people
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong follow-through
  • Proficiency with social media and basic computer applications
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Local candidate preferred
  • Reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new business opportunities through in-person visits, phone calls, email outreach, networking, and social media
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and referral partners
  • Attend networking events, chamber meetings, BNI groups, trade events, and community functions
  • Generate and manage a pipeline of leads and referral accounts
  • Conduct in-person meetings with prospective partners and customers
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up communication
  • Help develop local marketing and partnership strategies
  • Manage social media outreach and engagement
  • Update CRM systems and maintain organized sales records
  • Create weekly sales and activity reports
