About The Position

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a full-time role focused on building and prioritizing prospect lists, researching target organizations, and executing outbound prospecting to generate qualified sales conversations. The BDR will convert marketing engagement, qualify opportunities, and schedule meetings for the sales team. This role involves managing an early-stage prospect pipeline, maintaining CRM data, and ensuring a structured handoff to Sales. The company, Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA), is the nation's leading street sweeping company, operating in over 20 states and supporting more than 600 municipalities, counties, and government agencies. SCA is committed to providing essential sweeping and environmental services that support cleaner, safer, and more sustainable communities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ Years’ Sales Experience
  • Experience in State and Local Government (SLED), Public Works, Utilities, or Environmental Services preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite
  • Strong proficiency with CRM tools
  • Strong prospecting, lead qualification, research, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage decision-makers, ask effective discovery questions, and clearly communicate value
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and persistent
  • Strong CRM discipline, follow-through, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain prioritized prospect lists for Mid-Market and Large Government and Private segments.
  • Research target organizations, locations, decision-makers, business needs, and relevant service opportunities.
  • Execute coordinated outbound prospecting through calls, emails, digital engagement, and other approved channels.
  • Respond to prioritized marketing-generated engagement and develop prospects that meet target-segment and qualification criteria.
  • Qualify prospect fit, customer needs, stakeholders, serviceability, and potential opportunity value.
  • Schedule meetings with the appropriate Mid-Market Sales Manager, Large Government Sales Manager, or Inside Sales Representative.
  • Complete a structured seller handoff, including relevant account research, qualification findings, stakeholder information, needs, and next steps.
  • Manage a working pipeline of early-stage prospects and execute timely, disciplined follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate prospect, activity, qualification, lead-source, meeting, and handoff information in the CRM.
