About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, this role supports prospective students exploring programs at Yorkville University and Toronto Film School. The Business Development Representative (Student Recruitment) will be one of the first points of contact for prospective students, reaching out to understand their educational and career goals, explore their motivation for returning to school, and determine whether their program of interest aligns with their aspirations. This role involves building rapport through high-volume outbound calls, answering initial questions, qualifying prospective students, and connecting engaged candidates with an Admissions Advisor. This is a fully remote role for candidates based in Ontario, with a schedule of 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM ET, including a bi-weekly Saturday shift.

Requirements

  • Confident and engaging communicator who can quickly build rapport over the phone.
  • Ability to ask thoughtful questions, listen closely, and adapt approach based on what is heard.
  • Experience working directly with customers, clients, or the public in a service, sales, retail, call centre, or similarly people-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-volume outbound outreach to prospective students who have expressed interest in Yorkville University or Toronto Film School.
  • Create a positive first impression, build rapport quickly, answer initial questions, and engage prospective students in meaningful conversations about their education and career goals.
  • Ask thoughtful questions and actively listen to understand each prospective student's motivation for exploring further education.
  • Help prospective students consider whether their program of interest aligns with their goals and identify those ready to continue the conversation with an Admissions Advisor.
  • Pre-qualify prospective students and connect engaged, qualified individuals with an Admissions Advisor through scheduled appointments or live transfers.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline by keeping conversations moving forward and working toward established outreach and conversion goals.
  • Take ownership of a high-volume calling schedule, accurately track activity, and work toward individual and team KPIs.
  • Use the team's systems and processes to stay organized, manage follow-ups, and ensure prospective student information is captured accurately.
  • Work closely with Admissions Advisors and fellow Associate Admissions Advisors to support prospective students and team goals.
  • Share insights, participate in team activities and recruiting initiatives, and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative environment focused on student success.
