About The Position

Talkspace is seeking a Business Development Representative, Military Engagement (BDR, Military Engagement) to join their sales team. This role is responsible for expanding and strengthening relationships within the military and veteran ecosystem, focusing on active-duty organizations, military installations, commands, leaders, Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), and other strategic stakeholders. The BDR will conduct multi-channel outreach to identify and engage key stakeholders, build awareness of Talkspace's capabilities, identify opportunities, generate leads, and nurture relationships for potential partnerships or new business. This position is crucial for building a national military engagement pipeline and requires a relationship-oriented professional with an understanding of the military and veteran community. The role is remote and based on Eastern Time.

Requirements

  • 2 - 5+ years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, military services, veteran services, nonprofit organizations, business development, sales, partnerships, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to serving military service members, veterans, and their families, with a genuine passion for improving access to healthcare and other resources for military-connected populations.
  • Strong military acumen, with a demonstrated understanding of military culture, organizational structures, terminology, leadership hierarchies, installation environments, and the unique needs of active-duty service members and their families.
  • Strong prospecting and business development skills, including experience with email, phone, social selling, networking, events, and other outbound engagement strategies.
  • Strong understanding of relationship-based business development, with the ability to establish credibility, maintain long-term relationships, and nurture opportunities over extended sales cycles.
  • Highly proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable independently managing a broad portfolio of relationships, prospects, and emerging opportunities.
  • Strong research and organizational skills with the ability to understand an organization's mission, structure, priorities, funding environment, and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with military, government, nonprofit, healthcare, and civilian audiences.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple relationships, leads, and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
  • Goal-oriented and results-driven, with a strong commitment to building sustainable relationships and creating a measurable pipeline, rather than relying solely on transactional lead generation.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a mission-driven environment.
