About The Position

Homewatch CareGivers of Glendora is seeking an experienced and well-connected business development professional to connect seniors and their families with compassionate in-home support. This role requires an understanding of the healthcare and senior-care landscape and the ability to cultivate strong professional relationships into meaningful referral partnerships. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with professionals in hospitals, senior living communities, rehabilitation centers, physician practices, home health agencies, and community organizations. This is not an entry-level marketing position; it requires a proactive approach to building new relationships, uncovering needs, creating value, and becoming a trusted resource. The role offers autonomy in developing territory and account strategies, with support from leadership, resources, and marketing. The opportunity to make a direct impact on company growth and the families served is a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of business development, sales, community relations, or referral-development experience, preferably within home care, home health, hospice, senior living, skilled nursing, healthcare, or senior services.
  • Established relationships within the local healthcare and senior-care community strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop professional referral relationships and turn those relationships into measurable business growth.
  • Experience working with healthcare decision-makers, case managers, social workers, discharge planners, executive directors, and other professional referral partners.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, including the ability to ask great questions, uncover needs, and offer solutions.
  • Confidence in initiating conversations, asking for referrals, and advancing relationships toward a clear next step.
  • Experience managing a territory, referral-source pipeline, CRM, and performance metrics.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Self-directed, organized, and accountable, with the ability to manage one's own schedule and priorities.
  • A competitive drive for results balanced with genuine empathy for seniors and families navigating care decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Already know people in the local healthcare and senior-care community—and they know you.
  • Have built referral relationships before and understand that successful business development is about becoming a trusted resource, consistently following up, uncovering opportunities, and bringing value.
  • Comfortable being accountable for results, understanding that great referral partnerships are built through credibility, consistency, and trust.

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow referral partnerships with hospitals, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, senior living communities, home health and hospice organizations, physician practices, social-service agencies, and other healthcare and senior-service professionals.
  • Leverage existing healthcare and community relationships while continually identifying new decision-makers, influencers, and potential referral partners.
  • Identify high-potential referral sources and develop strategic account plans with consistent touchpoints, clear objectives, and measurable growth goals.
  • Uncover needs and create value by understanding referral partners' challenges and connecting them with relevant services, education, specialty programs, and resources.
  • Consistently move relationships forward from introduction to opportunity, opportunity to referral, and referral to long-term partnership.
  • Confidently present services and specialty programs, including memory care, fall prevention, and respite care, to healthcare professionals, department leaders, and community groups.
  • Track referral activity, leads, conversions, starts of care, and other key performance indicators to identify opportunities, adjust strategy, and demonstrate results.
  • Build visibility and credibility through professional associations, networking groups, healthcare events, community organizations, educational opportunities, and other strategic partnerships.
  • Partner with the team on events, campaigns, social media, email, and other outreach initiatives that support business-development goals.
