About The Position

The Business Development Officer (BDO) is responsible for overall new business development, balancing growth, loans, fee income, remote deposit, cash management, and merchant services. The role involves overall relationship management and cross-selling bank products while providing superior service to small to medium-sized businesses and business professionals. The BDO must ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures and achieve established individual, department, and Bank goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs. The salary range is $90k-$110k, commensurate with experience, and the position is based in Queens.

Requirements

  • Superior presentation, communication, and customer service skills required.
  • Degree in Business Administration or Credit trained required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic execution of business development and customer management.
  • Take ownership of new clients brought into FCSB by specified lenders and manage those relationships as the point person.
  • Act as a liaison between lenders and clients.
  • Serve as a sales coach and mentor for newly hired BDOs.
  • Oversee sales activities and results for BDOs.
  • Make joint calls to ensure the FCSB story is accurately and well-told, and to observe sales skills.
  • Overall management of the sales process.
  • Develop a sales action plan to prospect, acquire, and maintain new business relationships.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly sales calls to attorneys, CPAs, and other referral sources.
  • Target territories are limited to the Tri-State area with particular concentration in the Retail Branches' general respective geography.
  • Maintain and share a calendar of scheduled appointments with the Supervisor.
  • Maintain an active pipeline report to be submitted to the Supervisor on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports to submit and present at weekly sales meetings.
  • Team up with business partners as needed for lending, cash management, and overall support.
  • Perform related and unrelated duties as may be required or assigned.
  • May be required to work weekends or attend business-related social events to meet business development needs and expand COI.
