About The Position

The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, selling, and supporting all cash management/business-related deposit products and services. This role involves partnering with internal teams to identify new client opportunities, assisting with onboarding and support of commercial deposit accounts and cash management products, and responding to Requests for Proposal. The officer will serve as a point of contact for both external and internal customers for various cash management products and services, providing customer training and installation assistance. Additionally, the role requires identifying cross-sell opportunities, researching competitors, and serving as the primary on-site sales person for the “Employer of Choice” checking accounts program. Other responsibilities include performing assigned duties in compliance with laws and regulations and making referrals for other bank products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent professional experience.
  • Solid background in and knowledge of financial institution policies and products.
  • Minimum two years financial institution experience.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and sales skills.
  • Ability to use office and software equipment including (but not limited to) Office 365, computer, fax, etc.
  • Continuing related education.
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Direct experience working in cash management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Lenders, Branch Managers and others to identify new client/prospect opportunities, requiring travel to meet clients/prospects throughout the state of Kentucky and future markets.
  • Assist with the onboarding/support of commercial deposit accounts and cash management products needed by commercial clients.
  • Work with Lenders and/or Senior Management to respond to all Requests for Proposal.
  • Function as a point of contact for both external bank customers, as well as internal customers (lenders), of the bank for supporting products such as Remote Deposit Capture, ACH, Wire, Online Banking, and other current or future Cash Management products/services provided by the bank.
  • Help to provide customer training and installation assistance, both in-person and via telephone, ensuring successful implementation with minimal customer impact and quality customer service.
  • Identify possible cross-sell opportunities within the current client base through in-person calls and at least annual reviews of all commercial client relationships.
  • Research and report on competitors’ products and marketing strategies and recommend new products, services, and marketing ideas as well as modifications/improvements to existing product offerings.
  • Serve as primary on-site sales person for “Employer of Choice” checking accounts (employee bank at work program).
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Perform job duties in compliance with all laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Recognize opportunities for other bank products and services as applicable and make referrals as appropriate.
