This is a hybrid position where the officer will generate new Small Business Administration (SBA) loans through prospecting, outside calling, networking and referrals. It will require a substantial number of outside, in-person calls on prospects and clients, including automobile travel. The goal is to achieve 100% of the established annual production objective (APO) by year-end, which will be determined at or near the beginning of every year. The role also involves developing and implementing marketing activities within the budgetary constraints established by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in screening, processing and booking SBA 504 and SBA 7A loans.
  • Financial sales and lending abilities required.
  • In-depth credit and lending knowledge, and thorough understanding of all traditional and non-traditional bank products are required.
  • MS Office Suite skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional lending experience in the area of SBA related loans is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for external self-sourcing SBA-government guaranteed loans within the Bank’s geographic territory.
  • Identify and solicit new business relationships.
  • Interview new and existing loan applicants to gather information relative to their business needs, abilities and earnings to determine whether loans may be an acceptable risk.
  • Assemble loan packages and assist in the gathering and closing process.
  • Cross-sell business products to existing customers and prospect business customers through an organized calling program.
  • Generate qualified referrals to other bank departments.
  • Actively participate in external community activities in order to promote Firstrust Bank and to develop a business referral network.
