About The Position

Originates loans from application to closing and works closely with Escrow, Title, and all parties involved. This position underwrites and processes new loan requests, manages new and existing clients, and assists the Closing Manager with the packaging and closing of all loans generated by the SBA Department. The role requires reviewing loan files to comply with SBA and Bank regulations, adhering to SBA guidelines, procedures, and eligibility requirements, and corresponding with customers regarding SBA-generated accounts. Additionally, the position involves coordinating and assisting the Closing Manager for loan sales to the secondary market and certifying SBA GL Accounts as needed. The role also emphasizes compliance with the Bank's security program, including the End-User Computing Agreement, acquiring good knowledge of computer systems, staying current with industry trends in safeguarding confidential data, and reporting suspicious activities.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or customer complaints.
  • Ability to make effective persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, employees, regulators, or board members.
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Prior Bank experience preferred but not required.

  • Originate loans from application to closing.

  • Correspond with customers' requests relating to SBA generated accounts.
  • Coordinate and assist with Closing Manager for Loan sales to secondary market.
  • Certify SBA GL Accounts as needed.
  • Comply with the Bank’s security program.
  • Acquire good knowledge on functions and usage of computer systems as related to the assigned job functions.
  • Be current and knowledgeable in industry’s trend in safeguarding the Bank against confidential data leak, identity theft, fraudulent activities, and computer security threats.
  • Report suspicious activities to manager, Chief Risk Officer or Information Security Officer.
