Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma in sales/marketing or a related field
  • More than 3 years of experience in a business development role, ideally in selling outdoor commercial products to a network of independent retailers
  • Excellent planning, organization, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team spirit and customer focus
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work: do what is necessary without being asked and follow through to completion
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Computer skills (PC): Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must be flexible for overnight travel, as needed
  • Excellent time and territory management skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop, grow, and drive sales in the territory for complete product categories (whole goods) and assigned parts.
  • Develop growth plans for current dealers, forecast products by dealer, manage dealer inventory, communicate promotions, review programs, process and manage warranty issues.
  • Maintain accurate sales information in the identified platform (Salesforce), including weekly call reports and any other information requested by your manager.
  • Collaborate constantly with the credit department to ensure dealers in the assigned territory comply with appropriate payment procedures.
  • Support the growth of Professional (PRO) products in assigned territories by actively recruiting PRO dealers, managing dealer relationships, participating in open houses and demonstrations, and communicating opportunities to the IR Sales Manager.
  • Drive parts sales growth at IR dealers.
  • Encourage all IR dealers to become service dealers, ensuring they offer professional service to mass consumers to foster repeat purchases and long-term product purchase opportunities.
  • Assist and support IR dealer customers during open houses, demonstration days, test drives, trade shows, and special events at key times of the season.
  • Be able to demonstrate products, emphasizing features and benefits.
  • Coordinate training for dealer employees.
  • Be responsible for the purchase of advertising packages by IR dealers.
  • Establish budgets per dealer and contribute to the development of specific advertising plans with dealers.
  • Ensure dealers have adequate signage, encourage best practices for showroom merchandising (exterior and interior) to optimize traffic to IR dealers.
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and complete account documentation.
  • In collaboration with customer service, coordinate the communication of information to all dealers in the territory regarding product availability, based on production, inventory, and delivery schedules.
  • Track stock levels - retail and wholesale.
  • Assist in moving excess inventory, all brands, in the assigned territory.
