About The Position

This role is for a Business Development Manager at a portfolio of upscale hotels in Austin, TX. Pathfinder Hospitality has created an innovative sales model that removes busywork and allows team members to focus on their strengths. Researchers provide decision-maker contacts, proposals are built with storytelling and video, and administrative tasks are handled by an enablement team. General Managers are trained as sales leaders to protect selling time and support growth. The focus is on spending time in the market, building relationships, telling the hotel's story, and closing accounts.

  • Strong ability to persuade and influence, turning prospects into long-term clients.
  • Enjoys networking and face-to-face selling in the community.
  • Excels in relationship selling by building trust and credibility over time.
  • Results-driven and proactive mindset - self-starter who thrives on finding and closing business.
  • Desire to learn and grow, with openness to coaching and development regardless of career stage.
  • Candidates with a primary background in hotel or hospitality sales will not be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Own your Austin market. Prospect extended stay and LNR accounts across Austin for Aloft + Holiday Inn Express, fueled by validated leads.
  • Support the portfolio. As you grow into a strong hunter, you'll also help generate business for Staybridge Houston Clear Lake, with a special focus on extended stay demand.
  • Be the face of our hotels. Spend most of your week in the field - networking events, site visits, and office drop-ins - not stuck behind a desk.
  • Capture opportunities. Handle high-value inbound calls triaged to you, qualify quickly, and ensure every potential client gets a tailored follow-up.
  • Sell with storytelling. Use our "Dare to Compare" approach - proposals that don't just list rates, but show why our hotels are the smarter choice. We highlight unique advantages, testimonials, and videos that help clients picture themselves staying with us.
  • Create Peak Moments. Bring Pathfinder's culture of going beyond "service" into sales. Surprise and delight prospects with gestures that turn ordinary interactions into memorable stories they'll share with colleagues.
