About The Position

First Table is seeking a driven, food-loving Business Development Manager (BDM) to expand its presence in the Manchester and Liverpool areas. This role involves engaging with restaurant owners and hospitality leaders to secure new business. The BDM will operate with autonomy within their territory, supported by an established brand and a collaborative international team. First Table is a dining discovery platform that connects diners with restaurants, helping venues fill early tables and encouraging diners to explore new culinary experiences. Requirements

  • Experience in business development, sales, field sales, partnerships, or account management.
  • Ideally experience in hospitality, food tech, or SaaS.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Confidence in building rapport quickly and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships.
  • Self-starter with a commercial mindset, comfortable working independently within a territory.
  • Tech-savvy, confident with CRMs, video conferencing, and sales platforms.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Regular travel between Manchester and Liverpool required.
  • Must be based in or near Manchester or Liverpool (or well-placed to cover both).
  • Must already have the right to work in the UK.

  • Hospitality industry familiarity is a big plus.
  • Existing contacts will push candidates to the top of the queue.

Responsibilities

  • Grow First Table's restaurant network across Manchester and Liverpool.
  • Identify and approach prospective partners, understanding their needs and demonstrating how First Table can support their business.
  • Win new restaurant partners, managing opportunities from initial contact through to onboarding.
  • Support existing partners as needed.
  • Work autonomously, meeting restaurant owners and operators in person.
  • Utilize market insight, data, and local knowledge to build a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Sign up new restaurants within the assigned territory.
  • Identify new acquisition targets and track them in the CRM.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Research prospects to assess sales value and profitability.
  • Win new business against agreed targets by maintaining a call cycle.
  • Track market trends and competitors to identify new opportunities.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and industry events.
  • Respond to and close warm incoming inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for a seamless partner experience.
