About The Position

The Business Development Manager is a key position within the Aware Recovery Care model. You are responsible for being the primary point of contact for all healthcare and psychiatric partners in your territory. You would ensure all client referrals are handled and fielded correctly, whether that client is placed with us, or we refer out to a community partner. You would promote the Aware model at in-services, lunch and learns, and conventions. This role requires the ability to communicate a thorough understanding of ARC’s philosophy of treatment, program specifics, admissions process and criteria to medical market providers and hospitals. The manager will conduct face-to-face sales calls, phone and email outreach to potential referral sources, and strengthen existing relationships with referral resources while cultivating new ones through networking, cold calling and other various forms of contact. A streamlined process for receiving referrals from medical sector referral sources needs to be developed. The role involves attending professional conferences, seminars, and networking events to promote Aware Recovery care and connect with potential referents, and informing industry professionals and consumers about Aware’s services, curriculum, and medical/clinical staff qualifications. The manager will also onboard and train new hire medical market outreach reps. Responsibilities include verifying current health insurance coverage, benefits and eligibility through the electronic verification system and remaining compliant with applicable state and federal regulations (Release of Information, Grievance and Appeals procedures, etc.). Proficiency in operation of CRM (Salesforce) and EHR software is required, along with daily tracking of contacts, clients, providers, institutions, their hierarchies, referrals in and external referrals made through Salesforce. Knowledge of MAT advantages, disadvantages, side-effects, signs/symptoms of overdose/managing withdrawal symptoms, and awareness of resources for specialized providers, comorbidities, dual diagnosis, and other levels of care is necessary. The role includes maintaining contact with the client and family throughout the treatment process as needed, supporting business operations, and attending weekly marketing meetings. A willingness to travel and attend some night/weekend events is expected, along with performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must actively reside within the state of Connecticut.
  • Must be comfortable with 50% - 75% travel (with mileage reimbursement).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Addiction Treatment or Mental Health field preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records, electronic phone systems, customer resource management software, and Microsoft office systems (Outlook, Excel, One Drive) is preferred.
  • Experience using Salesforce is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of MAT advantages, disadvantages, side-effects, signs/ symptoms of overdose / managing withdrawal symptoms.
  • Awareness of resources available for specialized providers, comorbidities, dual diagnosis, as well as other levels of care (as-needed).
