About The Position

Athena is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to build and maintain strong relationships with mortgage brokers in Queensland, contributing to the company's goal of becoming the preferred lender in the broker channel. This role is crucial for Athena's expansion into the broker market, following its success in the direct-to-consumer channel.

Requirements

  • Based in Brisbane, QLD
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar BDM role managing relationships with broker networks and individual brokers
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships – with brokers, credit teams and clients
  • Great focus on sales and conversion
  • Exceptional communication skills – clear, engaging, and professional
  • Self-motivated
  • Focused on continuous development
  • Critical thinker and confident in decision making

  • You are very engaging over phone, SMS, email and Zoom
  • Majority of the time will be on the road for Broker face-to-face visits, PD days, Broker events etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for application results across our aggregator partners
  • Being the "go to person" for your brokers
  • Building and maintaining outstanding Broker relationships
  • Proactively managing a pipeline of Broker scenarios and submitted Apps, constantly striving for the ultimate Broker & Customer Experience
  • Seeking out new Broker relationships, nurture these relationships until they become vocal advocates for Athena, true raving fans
  • Running interactive Broker onboarding sessions to provide in depth knowledge of Athena, who we are, what we do, the Customers that are right for Athena, our product & process
  • Manage relationships with aggregators including partnership managers and state leaders
  • Contributing to discussions in Athena about opportunities and ways to improve Policy
  • Work with Cyber, Tech, Risk, and other functions to get to effective policy outcomes
  • Provide feedback and ideas to help ensure that Athena platforms are the best in the market
