About The Position

The Business Development Manager – ColdSpace will be responsible for identifying, developing, and qualifying new business opportunities within the national food processing and cold storage markets. This position will work closely with the Director of Sales to develop target accounts, establish relationships with key decision-makers, identify upcoming projects, and generate qualified opportunities for ColdSpace. The primary focus of this position is creating opportunities and building relationships that generate future sales. The ideal candidate is a proactive, relationship-driven business development professional with experience in construction, food processing, cold storage, industrial facilities, or a related industry. This individual should understand how construction projects are developed and be comfortable engaging owners, developers, operators, architects, engineers, and other industry stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of business development or sales experience.
  • Understanding of commercial construction and project development.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business opportunities.
  • Strong prospecting, networking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction, cold storage, food processing, industrial, or related markets preferred.
  • Existing relationships within the cold storage and food processing industries.
  • Experience working with owners, operators, developers, food processors, distributors, general contractors, architects, engineers, or consultants.
  • Knowledge of refrigerated distribution, freezer facilities, food processing facilities, or temperature-controlled environments.
  • Experience developing construction or design-build opportunities.
  • Experience with national or multi-location customers.
  • CRM experience.
  • Established industry network and relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities within the national food processing and cold storage markets.
  • Research target companies, owners, developers, operators, and upcoming projects.
  • Build and maintain a qualified prospect pipeline.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Identify projects early in the development process.
  • Establish relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Generate qualified opportunities for the ColdSpace sales team.
  • Build relationships with cold storage owners, operators, food processors, developers, general contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Establish ColdSpace as a trusted resource within the industry.
  • Schedule and conduct customer meetings, presentations, site visits, and introductory calls.
  • Understand customer needs, facility requirements, expansion plans, and future projects.
  • Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with prospects.
  • Monitor national food processing and cold storage development activity.
  • Identify new construction, expansions, renovations, and capital investment opportunities.
  • Research target markets and strategic accounts.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Develop relationships with industry associations, consultants, developers, and other sources of project intelligence.
  • Provide market and competitive intelligence to the Director of Sales.
  • Qualify opportunities based on project size, scope, timing, budget, customer fit, and potential.
  • Gather preliminary project information and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Sales, Estimating, and Preconstruction as opportunities develop.
  • Assist with account strategies and pursuit plans.
  • Support customer presentations, proposals, and sales meetings.
  • Ensure qualified opportunities are properly documented and transitioned into the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and opportunity information within the CRM.
  • Track contacts, meetings, activities, opportunities, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain consistent prospect follow-up.
  • Provide regular pipeline and business development updates to leadership.
  • Support accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting.
