About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join the AWS Government Regions team. This role focuses on expanding the AWS customer and partner base, as well as the portfolio of third-party products and solutions within the AWS Government Regions (US). The position will concentrate on business development initiatives with technology partners (ISV, PaaS, SaaS), specifically for onboarding their products, services, and offerings to the AWS Government Regions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud computing, a background in sales, partner, and business development, and a proven track record of introducing products into new markets. Strategic thinking regarding business, product, and technical challenges is essential, along with the ability to drive business development programs tactically. Candidates must be able to articulate compelling customer value propositions and business case/financial proposals. Responsibilities include driving revenue growth, onboarding partners to Government Regions, and expanding the available product/solutions portfolio.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience
  • 5+ years of working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including, but not limited to Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking experience
  • 5+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Research, Identify and develop strategies to expand business in untapped markets and customer domains for the AWS Government Regions.
  • Identify specific customer segments, industry verticals and partner markets to approach with targeted value propositions and business case proposals leveraging the AWS Government regions.
  • Identify key AWS Technology Partners and work with the AWS sales and partner development teams to introduce the AWS Government Regions to partners and customers.
  • Define, develop and manage Government Regions -focused AWS Partner Programs and initiatives.
  • Research and develop business cases to support detailed product feature requests in the AWS Government Regions.
  • Work collaboratively to develop and execute the sales/business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. PMO, sales, legal, support, etc.).
  • Work across AWS marketing and other business development teams to develop campaigns, programs, and go-to-market initiatives for the AWS Government regions.
  • Monitor partner onboarding and adoption; develop approaches to increase number of product/service offerings, revenue growth rates and workload retention rates.
