About The Position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a Business Development Manager III with a focus on Government Relations. This role is responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships and business relationships with corporate government relations, government entities, associated authorities, and committees. The position also supports and protects GDOTS' interests, policies, and objectives concerning local, state, and federal government affairs. The role requires in-depth knowledge in its discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines, the ability to solve complex problems, and work independently with minimal guidance. It may involve leading projects or project steps and acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues. The position involves retaining and expanding existing company relationships, soliciting new business, administering long-term strategic plans for organizational growth, and assisting in the development of strategies for identifying and responding to business development opportunities. This includes internal expansion into new markets or external expansion via partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures. The role also entails developing and maintaining positive customer relationships, gathering and analyzing data to evaluate new business opportunities or assess potential markets, and preparing proposals, reports, or presentations. Additional responsibilities may include International Business Development, overseeing international competitive position, developing strategies to maximize sales volumes, implementing international marketing and sales policies, and evaluating program results. The role also involves cultivating and maintaining relationships with government representatives, identifying public policy issues, preparing formal communications, building governmental and public support, contributing to strategy development aligned with laws and regulations, and monitoring and analyzing pending legislation to evaluate organizational impact and formulate responses.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Retain and expand existing company relationships for one or more divisions, product lines, or market segments, and solicit new business from prospective customers.
