About The Position

This position is in Cargill's specialized portfolio enterprise, serving diverse businesses and unique customers. The Business Development Manager - Dielectric Fluids will primarily focus on utilities, while also developing strategies to increase sales from new and existing market segments for their dielectric fluid offering. The role requires a professional who can develop processes to identify and contact prospective customers, build relationships to generate future sales and repeat business. The manager will assess customer needs, suggest appropriate products, services, and solutions, and participate in marketing, sales, and engineering support activities to achieve objectives and revenue goals. Candidates must reside in the US Southwest or US South Central area, preferably in Texas, New Mexico, California, or Arizona, and live within close proximity to a major airport to support travel requirements. This position requires up to 50% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical engineering or chemistry OR related field OR equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience in sales or business development
  • Minimum of three years of experience within the Energy industry (electrical segment)
  • Able and willing to travel up to 50%
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical engineering or chemistry or related field
  • Experience with utilities in USA
  • Experience & knowledge of transformers
  • Five to ten years’ experience in combined sales, marketing, and business development.
  • CRM or Salesforce experience

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and close new sales by translating customer needs into business strategy to capture commercial sales.
  • Create demand for products and services by raising their profile with customers.
  • Promote product market recognition with technical knowledge and market research or intelligence.
  • Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
  • Participate in regular status and strategy meetings with customers' senior management to understand and meet their needs.
  • Execute sales plans with strategies to protect, grow and diversify relationships with targeted customers.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
