About The Position

Upside Innovations is a manufacturer of aluminum ramps, steps, canopies, OSHA steps, covered walkways, and custom access products. We have been growing tremendously since Upside started in 2009 and we continue to add new positions to our team. We are now part of SixAxis Manufacturing Technologies, which is fueling additional growth in our business. The Business Development Leader will be responsible for finding new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and growing sales. We are looking for a motivated, self- driven individual who enjoys connecting with people, developing new business, and helping drive the continued growth of Upside Innovations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years product or marketing experience with industrial and highly engineered products
  • Proven experience in business development, sales or a related role
  • Champions new product “realization” to ensure new products are launched in a timely manner
  • Plays a direct and key role in developing business strategies and pricing
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical credibility with market experts globally
  • Strong knowledge of market research and analysis techniques
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools
  • Willingness to travel as required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and market trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation methods
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Analyze market data and competitor activities to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and proposals to potential clients.
  • Negotiate and close deals with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and report on sales and business development activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments to identify new business opportunities.
  • Hosts lunch and learns to teach potential customers about Upside’s product and service offerings.
  • Teaches AIA CE course to groups of architects and engineers to help Upside become the spec of choice in the market.
