About The Position

The Monad Foundation is seeking a Director of Business Development | Financial Institutions to establish and lead the Financial Institutions vertical. This role is designed for an entrepreneurial individual with a high degree of autonomy, who excels at building initiatives from the ground up, identifying opportunities, forging partnerships, and driving adoption of decentralized technology for real financial use cases on the blockchain. The position has a dual focus: managing relationships with financial institutions to position Monad as the preferred blockchain for banks, exchanges, and market infrastructure providers, and overseeing the operational aspects of Monad's institutional communications to ensure stakeholders are informed and the ecosystem's health is tracked.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in financial institution partnerships, institutional BD, management consulting with a financial services focus, or a crypto infrastructure company with experience in institutional pipelines.
• Direct exposure to how large financial institutions evaluate, procure, and adopt new technology infrastructure, including understanding internal dynamics, stakeholders, and timelines.
• Existing relationships within financial institutions, consulting firms, or the institutional crypto ecosystem.
• Exceptional written communication skills for investor updates, institutional materials, and narrative documents.
• Familiarity with token markets and institutional investor behavior.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams with different audiences and timelines simultaneously without compromising quality.
• Analytical skills to track competitive dynamics across chains and synthesize institutional feedback into actionable intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a structured pipeline of target financial institutions, including banks, exchanges, clearing houses, asset managers, and market infrastructure providers, tracking engagement across stages: awareness, evaluation, pilot, and commitment.
• Develop deep, trust-based relationships with senior decision-makers at major financial institutions, focusing on those responsible for blockchain strategy, digital assets, and infrastructure.
• Cultivate internal champions within target institutions to build coalitions and ensure durable progress.
• Develop and execute an advisor and influencer strategy, engaging consulting firms, advisors, and intermediaries that influence institutional chain selection.
• Maintain a real-time view of institutional evaluations of competing chains and infrastructure, understanding the drivers behind these decisions.
• Develop a clear and insightful positioning for Monad, highlighting its suitability for specific institutional use cases.
• Build Monad's presence in relevant industry forums, working groups, and bodies where institutional blockchain strategy is formed.
• Develop and maintain Monad's institutional narrative, articulating why Monad is the ideal infrastructure partner for financial institutions building on-chain.
• Own the operational cadence of institutional communications, including drafting ecosystem updates, preparing meeting materials, and maintaining consistent outreach.
• Monitor sentiment across institutional channels, identifying shifts early and providing internal context and recommended responses.
• Support the development and refinement of Monad's institutional narrative for clear and differentiated stakeholder understanding.
• Manage the logistics and follow-through of institutional relationships to prevent gaps in communication and engagement.
