About The Position

The Monad Foundation is seeking a Director of Business Development | Financial Institutions to establish and lead the Financial Institutions vertical. This is an entrepreneurial role focused on building relationships, identifying opportunities, forming partnerships, and driving real financial usage on the blockchain. The position involves a dual mandate: managing relationships with financial institutions (banks, exchanges, market infrastructure providers) to position Monad as a preferred blockchain, and overseeing the operational aspects of Monad's institutional communications to keep stakeholders informed and track ecosystem health.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in financial institution partnerships, institutional BD, management consulting with a financial services focus, or a crypto infrastructure company with institutional pipeline experience.
• Direct exposure to how large financial institutions evaluate, procure, and adopt new technology infrastructure, understanding internal dynamics, stakeholders, and timelines.
• Existing relationships within financial institutions, consulting firms, or the broader institutional crypto ecosystem.
• Exceptional written communication skills for investor updates, institutional materials, and narrative documents.
• Familiarity with token markets and institutional investor behavior, understanding how institutional allocators think about digital assets.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams with different audiences and timelines simultaneously without compromising quality.
• Analytical skills to track competitive dynamics across chains and synthesize institutional feedback into actionable intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a structured pipeline of target financial institutions, tracking engagement across awareness, evaluation, pilot, and committed stages.
• Develop deep, trust-based relationships with senior decision-makers at major financial institutions responsible for blockchain strategy, digital assets, and infrastructure.
• Cultivate internal champions within target institutions to build coalitions for durable progress.
• Develop and execute an advisor and influencer strategy, engaging consulting firms, advisors, and intermediaries that shape institutional chain selection.
• Maintain a real-time view of competitive chain evaluations and develop positioning for Monad's advantages.
• Build Monad's presence in industry forums, working groups, and bodies where institutional blockchain strategy is formed.
• Develop and maintain Monad's institutional narrative, articulating why Monad is the right infrastructure partner for financial institutions.
• Own the operational cadence of institutional communications, including drafting ecosystem updates and preparing materials for meetings.
• Monitor sentiment across institutional channels, identifying shifts and surfacing them internally with context and recommended responses.
• Support the development and refinement of Monad's institutional narrative for clear and differentiated stakeholder understanding.
• Manage the logistics and follow-through of institutional relationships to ensure consistent engagement.
