About The Position

The Monad Foundation is seeking a Business Development Lead to spearhead the growth of its Financial Institutions vertical. This is an entrepreneurial role focused on building relationships, identifying opportunities, forming partnerships, and driving financial usage on the blockchain. The position involves managing relationships with financial institutions and overseeing the operational aspects of Monad's institutional communications.

The role has a dual mandate: first, to own Monad's financial institution relationships by building a pipeline, an advisor network, and an institutional narrative that positions Monad as the preferred blockchain for banks, exchanges, and market infrastructure providers. Second, to manage the operational backbone of Monad's institutional communications, ensuring stakeholders are informed, ecosystem health is tracked, and communication functions are consistent and high-quality.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in financial institution partnerships, institutional BD, management consulting with a financial services focus, or a crypto infrastructure company with institutional pipeline experience.
• Direct exposure to how large financial institutions evaluate, procure, and adopt new technology infrastructure, understanding internal dynamics, stakeholders, and timelines.
• Existing relationships within financial institutions, consulting firms, or the institutional crypto ecosystem.
• Exceptional written communication skills for investor updates, institutional materials, and narrative documents.
• Familiarity with token markets and institutional investor behavior.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams with different audiences and timelines simultaneously without compromising quality.
• Analytical skills to track competitive dynamics across chains and synthesize institutional feedback into actionable intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a structured pipeline of target financial institutions (banks, exchanges, clearing houses, asset managers, market infrastructure providers), tracking engagement stages from awareness to committed.
• Develop deep, trust-based relationships with senior decision-makers at major financial institutions, focusing on those responsible for blockchain strategy, digital assets, and infrastructure.
• Cultivate internal champions within target institutions to build coalitions for durable progress.
• Develop and execute an advisor and influencer strategy, engaging consulting firms, advisors, and intermediaries that shape institutional chain selection.
• Maintain a real-time view of institutions evaluating competing chains and infrastructure, and develop positioning for Monad's advantages.
• Build Monad's presence in industry forums, working groups, and bodies where institutional blockchain strategy is formed.
• Develop and maintain Monad's institutional narrative, articulating why Monad is the right infrastructure partner for financial institutions.
• Own the operational cadence of institutional communications, including drafting updates and preparing materials.
• Monitor sentiment across institutional channels, identify shifts, and provide internal recommendations.
• Support the development and refinement of Monad's institutional narrative.
• Manage the logistics and follow-through of institutional relationships to prevent gaps in communication.
