About The Position

Coastal is seeking a Business Development Intern to join their team in Lexington, KY, focusing on the Salesforce.com ecosystem. This part-time, paid internship is 8-12 weeks long and aims to provide interns with essential hard skills for the technology industry. Interns will work closely with sales leaders, shadow client calls and internal meetings, and contribute to a team-focused case study. The program offers hands-on Salesforce knowledge, communication and presentation skills, and networking opportunities, preparing interns for success in the tech industry.

Requirements

  • Interest in sales or sales development in SaaS tech or a high-growth environment.
  • Junior or Senior majoring in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or Technology at a University in the Lexington area.
  • Ability to commute to the Lexington office location weekly.
  • Engaging and compelling customer service skills with high cognitive empathy and ability to tailor stories to the customer.
  • A dynamic individual with a passion for technology sales and winning.
  • Eager to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support outbound prospecting through phone, email, and LinkedIn to identify qualified prospective Coastal customers.
  • Collaborate with Coastal Business Development Representatives & Client Advisors to secure new business and expand Coastal's market share.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and lead records within Salesforce.
  • Schedule and shadow introductory calls, taking detailed notes on prospects.
  • Utilize communication skills to support various Business Development teams at Coastal.
  • Build relationships within the Salesforce community and stay informed about trends and opportunities.
  • Keep updated on technical advancements in Salesforce to continuously improve knowledge.
  • Adopt a consultative sales approach focused on problem-solving for clients and developing Business Development skills.
